Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited cases in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use the Grundy County Criminal History website, you accept the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email or contact submission when needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive routine technical details when a visitor loads a page:

  • Page-view dates, times, and duration
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Referring site, when one is supplied
  • Pages viewed during the visit
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show how visitors use the site, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for us. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected partner service
  • Keep pages available and improve load performance
  • Diagnose and correct technical faults
  • Measure which resources visitors use
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. The site explains where Grundy County records are held and how to reach the sheriff, Circuit Court, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the site's search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information entered into those tools. We do not control those practices. Read the provider's policy before sending a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Grundy County Sheriff, Missouri courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. It may be available to the following limited recipients:

  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
  • Search partners that receive a query submitted through their tool
  • Advertising networks that serve ads
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Standard security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Missouri public-record access is governed by the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, while criminal-history dissemination is addressed in sections 43.500 through 43.543 RSMo. Those laws govern public bodies and criminal-history systems, not a promise that every visitor request applies to this private site. At a minimum, you may:

  • Request deletion of data tied to you
  • Ask what information we hold about you
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Opt out of certain processing when the law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date, so visitors should review the page from time to time.
